MSI unveils Computex 2023 line-up with new laptops, OLED monitors and more

Computex 2023 kicks off today and our coverage begins with an overview of all things MSI. At this year's show, MSI is unveiling key products for every category, including new laptops, graphics cards, motherboards, gaming monitors and more.

Starting off with the laptops, MSI is showcasing a new Prestige 16 model and a new Commercial 14 series laptop. The former is aimed at creators who need some graphics horsepower on the move, packing a 13th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and up to RTX 40 series graphics. Built to align with the Intel Evo and Nvidia Studio initiatives, the Prestige 16 promises plenty of power in a thin and light form factor.

The MSI Commercial 14 is pure business, with a design tailored to suit enterprise. In keeping with enterprise practices, this laptop also boasts security features, including NFC and a built-in Smart Card Reader. In keeping with MSI's efforts to be more environmentally friendly, the keyboard deck for this laptop is made of recycled PCR material and the packaging is 90% recyclable paper.

If laptops aren't your thing, but you are in the market for a desktop, then MSI is also launching the new PRO DP180 and the PRO DP10 13M. The former is a standard-sized desktop PC validated with RTX Studio and packing up to an Intel 13th Gen Core i7 processor and RTX 40 series graphics. The DP10 13M is MSI's Mini PC solution, offering a chassis that measures less than 1.1L in volume, with up to a 12-core Core i7 processor under the hood and plenty of connectivity options, including Thunderbolt 4 for ultra-fast external storage solutions and compatibility with external GPU enclosures.

With the RTX 4060 Ti becoming available just last week, Computex is a perfect time to show off new custom models. MSI has now showed off its full lineup of RTX 4060 Ti graphics cards, including the Gaming and Gaming Trio cards, and the cheaper VENTUS series.

On the motherboard front, MSI has something very interesting to show off – the new Intel Z790 MAX motherboard, and the new Project Zero back-connect B650M motherboard. The first is a new flagship motherboard sporting a brand new Wi-Fi 7 solution. Meanwhile, the Project Zero board is a new type of motherboard that moves all fan connectors and power cables to the back of the board, allowing for zero-cables at the front of the case, resulting in a much cleaner build. This idea has been explored before by several motherboard makers, with MSI now being the latest.

On the monitor front, MSI is making the jump to OLED with its new QD-OLED monitors. The new MEG 342C QD-OLED boasts a rapid 0.03ms response time, DisplayHDR 400 certification, HDMI 2.1 for support for next-gen consoles and PCs, and a USB Type-C interface with up to 65W charging for docking your other devices. There will be an even larger 49-inch super-wide version coming from MSI in the near future too.

Standard IPS monitors aren't going away though. MSI has also announced the Modern MD27QXP, sporting a 1440p IPS panel, a four-way adjustable stand, a KVM switch, USB-C docking with power delivery and HDR for improved colours and highlights.

Alongside all of this, MSI is also showcasing new MPG GUNGNIR cases, a new MAG CoreLiquid E series AIO cooler, the new Spatium M570 PCIe 5.0 SSD and a range of new WiFi routers.
