The Ratchet & Clank franchise recently celebrated its 20th anniversary and is making its highly anticipated debut on PC with Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. With its standalone storyline and introduction of two fresh faces—Rivet and Kit—this title is an ideal starting point for rookies and seasoned fans.
Initially, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart was a PS5 exclusive and it was even claimed on a few occasions that the game's seamless level transition is only possible due to the PS5's SSD. As PC gamers, we knew this likely wasn't true and now, we've been proven right, as the game is officially heading to PC on the 26th of July.
The PC version of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will feature ray-traced reflections and shadows. Moreover, it will support ultrawide aspect ratios (21:9, 32:9, and 48:9). For controllers, there's full mouse and keyboard support with customisable controls and full controller compatibility. DualSense owners can even experience the tactile feedback features present in the PS5 version, but only with the controller plugged in via a cable.
For those seeking unrivalled performance, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart on PC will also support unlocked framerates and integrates the latest upscaling technologies, namely Nvidia DLSS 3, AMD FSR 2, Intel XeSS, and Insomniac Games' Temporal Injection. Additionally, the game supports NVIDIA Reflex for enhanced responsiveness and Nvidia DLAA for improved image quality.
The game will be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store, but pre-orders are already up. Pre-order customers will get exclusive in-game items: the Pixelizer weapon and the Carbonox Armor set. The PC version also includes the five armours from the Digital Deluxe Edition and the 20th Anniversary Armor Pack, in addition to five more armours inspired by previous entries in the series.
