Microsoft sell 10 million Kinect – breaking world record

Microsoft may be floundering within the mobile space, but their Kinect device has just entered the Guinness World records as the fastest selling consumer electronics device. They have sold over 10 million units worldwide since it was released a short while ago.

Microsoft are saying that they are selling over 133,333 units every day worldwide which indicates a phenomenal level of interest for this very cool motion sensing product. The sales figures also show that Sony aren't even coming close with the Move sales. We are sure that a portion of the interest is coming from outside the console market, as people are releasing weird and wonderful applications within the Windows environment.

Between November 4th 2010 and January 3 2011 it has sold even more than the Apple iPhone and iPad and there is news of an official Kinect for Windows later this year.

KitGuru says: Over 10 million sales, is a staggering number of units sold, we can see this device picking up even more steam as more titles are developed.
