Packard Bell have just announced the latest addition to their range of netbooks, which they call the DOT a. Simple and effective.
This is a 11.6 inch ultra portable netbook powered by AMD and it weighs only 1.35kg and is less than 25mm thick. The machines can be configured with a selection of 3 processors. The 1.2GHZ V Series 105 Single core, the 1.7GHZ Athlon II Neo K125 (single core) and the 1.3ghz Athlon II Neo K325 (dual core). The motherboard is a AMD M880G with HD 4225 graphics paired up with 4GB of ram and a large hard drive. HDMI out is also offers with Windows 7 operating system bundled with Adobe Elements 8.
Packard Bell are keen to point out the long life 6 cell battery which should offer up to 6 to 7 hours of use under normal conditions.
They are offering the machines in various colours … Black, Cashmere Red and Silk Silver, all of which have patterned outer covers to improve the appearance.
They are due for release within the next few months and are going to be priced around the £400 price point
