Steve Jobs was interviewed by AllThingD's Walt Mossbery and Kara Swisher at the D8 conference and he was, as usual, in fine form for making memorable quotes.
Apple recently surpassed Microsoft in market capitalisation but he said “It's surreal, but it doesn't really mean anything”. When he was asked about the ‘platform war' with Microsoft he said “No, we don't see ourselves in a platform war. We never saw ourselves in a platform war with Microsoft, either…Maybe that's why we lost. But we never thought of ourselves in a platform war; we just wanted to make good products.”
In regards to the conflicts with Adobe over Flash, Jobs said “We didn't set out to have a war over Flash, We're just trying to make great products, we don't think Flash makes a great product, so we're leaving it out.”
According to Jobs, the iPad was made before the iPhone but just took longer to get to market. You can read the full interview over here.
KitGuru Says: Jobs is a very rich man, and to us, he sounds rather relaxed. With his net worth I guess we all would be.
