Corsair release 40GB, 80GB and 160GB Force SSD’s

Corsairs latest range of SSD drives have proven very popular within the enthusiast community and today they have announced a new range of Sandforce based drives with 40gb, 80gb and 160GB to fit within the current lineup.

These new drives are going to be shipping in the next month and will cost $130, $230 and $450 for the three sizes. UK prices have yet to be announced, but we would expect the 40GB unit to go head to head with the excellent Intel X25-V 40GB which we reviewed a while ago, therefore aiming at a price point just under £100. Performance should be better than the Intel drive if previous experiences with the Sandforce controller are anything to go by.

While we haven't yet had the chance to test the drives ourselves yet, Corsair supplied a performance chart which you can see below.

KitGuru says: We are always excited about new releases of small, fast SSD drives, they make ideal OS boot partners and don't cost a fortune.
