iPhone 4 reviews hit the web – reviewers fall in love.

The first reviews of the iPhone 4 have hit the internet in the last few days and for fans of Apple phone technology you will be pleased to hear that the overall view is positive.

Most of the reviews I have read all seem very positive with most of them focusing on the screen quality, multitasking  and versatility. New features such as HD video recording seem to have hit the spot. Let's have a quick overview.

David Pogue, The New York Times

“The result is beautiful, and since there’s no more plastic, it feels solid and Lexus-like. But it no longer feels like a soothing worry stone, and it’s now impossible to tell by touch which way it’s facing in your pocket. The new metal mute and volume buttons are much stiffer. Still, Apple says the iPhone 4 is the world’s thinnest smartphone, and most people will approve of the trade-offs.”

Josh Topolsky, Engadget

“We can't overstate how high-end the design of the iPhone 4 is. The 3GS now feels cheap and chubby by comparison, and even a phone like the HTC Droid Incredible — which just came out — seems last-generation.”

Ed Baig, USA Today

“As with previous iPhones, the latest model breaks new ground. FaceTime video calling on the iPhone 4 is one of those cool “seeing is believing” features, and it arrives on top of several across-the-board enhancements. And iOS 4 is a mostly terrific software upgrade.

Cutting through the hype, Apple has given longtime diehards, and first-time iPhone owners, plenty to cheer about.”

Walt Mossberg, The Wall Street Journal

“Always brilliant at marketing, Apple has dubbed its new screen the “Retina display.” At a resolution of 960×640, it has four times the pixels of its predecessor and displays a whopping 326 pixels per inch. I don’t know how it compares with the human retina, but I do know that, just as Apple claims, text on the screen shows no jagged lines, even when expanded to giant size.”

  1. FaceTime is rubbish. Video calls were introduced in early 2000s, but here, it seems like the latest greatest best invention by Apple. On WiFi only. Tsk.

  2. I think it looks like a good phone to be honest. quite a lot of options. but like most Apple products it only comes to live after you visit the itunes store 🙂
