Earlier this year, leaks suggested that Ubisoft's upcoming open-world Star Wars game would release in 2024. It appears the company is well on the way to meeting that date, with a decent gameplay showcase arriving during Ubisoft Forward.
Star Wars Outlaws was first announced during the Xbox Games Showcase on Sunday, but last night during Ubisoft Forward, we also got a good look at gameplay:
The ten-minute gameplay walkthrough gives us a look at third-person combat, a brief look at open-world planets and space travel and some early story beats.
Overall, the game does look very good, although I am a tad concerned about some of the controls. It seems much of the gameplay has been designed around gamepad use, but we can't really judge this fully until the game arrives.
Star Wars Outlaws follows Kay Vess, a scoundrel seeking freedom and a new life away from the empire. The game is set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. An exact release date has not been announced yet, but the game is planned to release in 2024.

KitGuru Says: What did you all think of the Star Wars Outlaws gameplay reveal? I must admit between this and Avatar, Ubisoft's showing this week was much better than I was expecting.
