Gartner have just released their first quarter 2010 details regarding sales and LG are still the third highest selling mobile phone company with a 8.6% share of the market. LG however have decided not to rest on their laurels and have a big ‘end of year' push coming up.
LG are currently the second largest mobile phone manufacturer in the Open Handset Alliance, yet they have released very few Android powered handsets to date. Samsung for example have already released 15 Android units and have a 20.6% market share to this point. LG have, at last decided to try a harder push in the latter half of 2010.
The LG press release shows that at least four new Android devices will appear including new models which are based around the TI OMAP 3630 processor as well as a new upcoming Android Tablet with state of the art specifications, due for release near the end of the year.
KitGuru says: LG really have let Samsung rule the roost so far, and this push is clearly to gain marketshare. Discuss in our forum.
LG make some good phones, I love their screens too, very high quality.
