A few days ago the Library of Congress has said that jailbreaking is legal with their appended Digital Millenium Copyrights Act (DMCA) and since then hackers have introduced a new web browser based iPhone 4 unlocking software package.
This software is available on jailbreakme.com which allows the iPhone to be hacked directly through mobile Apple browser Safari, which cuts out the middle ground of having to plug in the iPhone to a computer first.
This software was created by the iPhone Dev Team and the software is currently used in iPhone and ipad with iOS 4 and 4.01 however the site is struggling to keep up with demand however you can get the software directly from jailbreakme.domyi.com.
Before you jump into the jailbroken software we have had reports already that some functionality has been negated, such as MMS options and Facetime.
KitGuru says: Have you a jailbroken iPhone, let us know your views on this.
haha, love it – there is no stopping them now !
Web based? thats a very cool idea, if it works. wonder what support you would get if your phone got hosed 🙂 very little I would assume, apart from scolding looks from apple staff. complete invalidity of warranty ? I would think so
