Well we all knew it was going to happen, but StarCraft 2 has managed to sell a staggering 1.5 million copies in only 2 days after release. Blizzard Entertainment have certainly gone some way in recurperating the $100 million costs of developing the game, even in such a short space of time.
StarCraft II is now the fastest selling strategy game of all time and these figures would make even Steve Jobs wet his pants. “We're pleased that so many people around the world have already picked up a copy of the game, and we look forward to welcoming even more players to Battle.net in the weeks and months ahead,” says Blizzard co-founder and CEO Mike Morhaime in a statement. We assume he was making the statement from a bath of liquid gold with several well endowed Swedish ladies rubbing his shoulders.
Many people had wondered if StarCraft 2 could ever match the sales impact of the original title which was released 12 years ago, but if initial impressions are anything to go by then this could very well be on route to one of the biggest selling games of all time.
