HP searching for new CEO

With the recent removal of CEO Mark Hurd, Hewlett Packard are hunting for a new leader. They have named firm Spencer Stuart as the company to spearhead this search.

Analysts are saying that possible candidates so far are EMC's Pat Gelsinger, IBM's Steve Mills, Microsoft's Stephen Elop and Motorola's Greg Brown. HP's PC division boss Todd Bradley is also in the running.

Mark Hurd resigned on August the 6th due to filing inaccurate expense reports relating to a female marketing coordinator Jodie Fisher, who was also a B movie actress. Hurd's removal has hit the company hard as he had received high praise for helping HP to reach new heights while reducing overall costs.

KitGuru says: Hewlett Packard are due to host an analyst meeting in late September and many think a new CEO will be announced by then, marking this as one of the fastest replacements in such a high position.
