Microsoft are planning to release a new Xbox 360 controller which features a transforming D-Pad in November. This has been due to feedback from a sizeable portion of the user base.
The most noticeable changes are with the design – the new controller ditches the white appearance with multicoloured buttons, aiming for a new gray and black finish with gray tone based buttons. The biggest news however is the new D-PAD design.
Major Nelson, Microsoft celebrity blogger said that users are “are not big fans of the D-pad”. In a rather cool way of addressing the issue, Microsoft are designing the new pad so it can be twisted to make it more attractive to gamers. At one position the D-Pad will be almost flush with the disc behind it. After it is twisted it can be raised much higher making it more usable for specific gamers.
KitGuru says: UK pricing hasn't been given yet, but the USA fee will be $64.99 and it will be offered in a bundle with Microsoft's Play and Charge kit.
