Ubisoft reportedly has 11 Assassin’s Creed games in the works

Assassin’s Creed is by far one of Ubisoft’s biggest franchises, with the publisher having released a total of 12 mainline titles, 17 spin-offs and a bunch of other transmedia titles since the series’ inception back in 2007. Ubisoft has already announced 6 AC games which are currently in development – but according to reports there are in fact 11 titles in the works.

As reported by Insider Gaming, Ubisoft currently has 11 Assassin’s Creed titles in development. Some of the games in question have already been announced, namely:

  • Assassin’s Creed Mirage [Single-player] (in-production) – October 12, 2023
  • Assassin’s Creed Nexus [VR] (in-production) – 2023
  • Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade [Mobile] (in-production) – Expected 2023
  • Assassin’s Creed Codename Red [Single-player] (in-production) – Sources Suggest 2024
  • Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe [Single-player] (pre-production) – Expected 2025/2026
  • Assassin’s Creed Codename Invictus [Multiplayer] (pre-production) – Expected 2025/2026

Alongside these half a dozen titles, Ubisoft are said to be working on 5 other additional AC games:

  • Assassin’s Creed Codename Nebula [Single-player] (concept/prototype)
    • Will feature 3 different settings: India, Aztec Empire, and Mediterranean
  • Assassin’s Creed Codename Raid [Multiplayer] (concept/prototype)
    • Free-to-Play 4-person co-op PvE experience featuring past characters
  • Assassin’s Creed Codename Echoes [Multiplayer] (concept/prototype)
    • Multiplayer title using Ubisoft’s Scalar (cloud) technology
  • Assassin’s Creed Nexus 2 [VR] (being discussed internally)
  • Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake [Single-player] (just greenlit)

In previous years the Assassin’s Creed franchise suffered from fatigue due to there being too many releases too often. Fortunately, we have moved away from this issue – or at least we had. It will be interesting to see how fans react to the upcoming bombardment of Assassin’s Creed games.
