Recently Microsoft officially began bringing its first-party PC games over to rival cloud gaming services like GeForce Now. Soon, Microsoft will be upping its offering, with Game Pass set to come to GeForce Now too.
Later this year, Microsoft will bring the PC version of Game Pass over to GeForce Now. This will mean Game Pass subscribers can opt to use Xbox Cloud Gaming, or switch to an alternative like GeForce Now. Through the RTX 4080 tier, GFN users will get a much-improved experience compared to xCloud, including up to 120FPS gameplay.
This also means the PC Game Pass library will be accessible across a full range of devices, including Macs and Chromebooks, as well as TVs and mobile devices.
The expansion of the partnership between Microsoft and Nvidia could be linked to Microsoft's continued efforts to win over regulators in order to get its acquisition of Activision Blizzard approved. The UK's Competition & Markets Authority wants to block the deal, claiming it would give Microsoft free reign over the cloud gaming market. To combat this, Microsoft is opening up its library to rival cloud gaming services.
Over in the US, the FTC is suing to block the deal, but rather than focusing on cloud gaming concerns, the FTC is focusing on the console market, a theory of harm that Microsoft has already squashed with the UK, the EU and a number of other countries.

KitGuru Says: Due to its performance boost, I tend to prefer GeForce Now to alternatives like xCloud, so getting access to Game Pass titles there will be a great move.
