Halo Reach – takes world by storm generating $200M in 24 hours

Halo Reach is one of the best games of 2010 according to KitGuru gaming reviewer Terry Franklin. Not only that but it looks to be on track to being one of the biggest sellers also generating $200 million in the first day !

It’s “the biggest game Microsoft has ever released,” said Phil Spencer, the corporate vice president of Microsoft Game Studios, in a statement. “Every major installment has grown in scope and popularity, firmly cementing the ‘Halo’ franchise as one of the most popular entertainment properties in the world over the past decade.”

I want my share of the sales, hand it over!

Sales started at midnight in thousands of retailers worldwide. Costing $60 a pop this would mean that they have sold around 3.3 million copies in the first 24 hours, which is a hard figure to wrap your head around.

Halo Reach is the last game in the series for Bungie who started the Halo series in 2001, and many people will be concerned to hear that Microsoft's 343 Industries Studio are taking over the franchise. Lifetime sales of Halo now stand at around $2 billion.

Kitguru says: Staggering sales figures but seemingly well worth it according to reviewers across the net.

  1. Really good to hear, although id say the next halo game, whenever that is due will suck.

Also why the hell dont microsoft pay a team inside their company to make a new age of empires? that was an awesome franchise, no reason for it to disappear.
