Google have announced their CR 48 laptop a few days ago, but rumour was circulating that the CPU might be ARM based. It has been confirmed that the processor will in fact be the Intel Atom processor.
Rumours have hit Kitguru that two versions will be released, one with a single core Atom and the other with a dual core at 1.6ghz.
Google are reporting eight hours of battery life with up to eight days of standby time with integrated 3G from Verizon. Flash storage will be onboard with the caps lock key replaced by a search button.
Google said ““Chrome notebooks are designed to reach the web instantly, are easy to share among friends and family, and simply by logging in, all of your apps, bookmarks and other browser settings are there. Setting up a new machine takes less than a minute. And even at this early stage, we feel there is no consumer or business operating system that is more secure.”
Kitguru says: A nice scoop from Intel and if these are priced right, they should sell very well, especially to casual users who mainly surf.
very very nice, these will be cheap cause there will be no microsoft OS overhead to the punter. which can often be 50-100 quid.
Wait.
