Steam Next Fest arrives with hundreds of PC game demos

Steam Next Fest has returned today, offering up hundreds of playable demos for new and upcoming PC games. You'll find some big, highly anticipated games here, like Lies of P, which now has a playable demo. However, the event is primarily geared towards helping PC gamers discover interesting new titles from smaller developers across the industry.

Lies of P has already made a name for itself after being featured prominently at two Xbox Games Showcases – it'll also be a day-one release on Game Pass. If you'd like to try the game early, a demo is available on Steam right now.

If you prefer a game that you can play at your own pace, then Sea of Stars might be worth checking out. The turn-based, JRPG-inspired game is arriving at the end of August but a demo is available during Steam Next Fest. House Flipper 2 is another recommendation I'd like to throw out there, the first game was a little janky but it was also quite therapeutic if you want something relaxing to play.

There are hundreds of games listed so it would be impossible to get through them all but if you want to find a new game outside of the overly hyped publisher showcases, Steam Next Fest is the place to look.

While on the surface a relatively simple change, I argue that Treyarch intimately studied DOOM and the past 30 years of first-person shooter evolution to craft one of the most satisfying gameplay systems yet.
