It seems in the States that people can sue over almost anything. The latest news show that Donald LeBuhn is sueing Apple over the iPhone 4's glass housing.
LeBuhn has filed a class action suit in L.A. County, claiming that the company is aware of the problem and refuses to warn customers that ‘normal' use of the phone could actually lead to a broken glass panel.
The report says that LeBuhn bought an iPhone 4 in September and that the glass broke on him three weeks later when his daughter dropped it to the ground, from a height of three feet. We would assume she did so accidentally.
The suit then highlights that Apple state that the glass is '20 times stiffer and 30 times harder than plastic' – but its claimed to be misleading. “Months after selling millions of iPhone 4s, Apple has failed to warn and continues to sell this product with no warning to customers that the glass housing is defective,” the suit reads.
LeBuhn is asking Apple to offer refunds of the purchase price to all those in the class action suit, also covering any repair fees they have incurred and to make restitution for “their overpayment in purchasing defective iPhone 4s.”
KitGuru says: iPhone 4 really a ‘weak' product, or is this just another case of crazy American lawsuits?
Could have been worse, it could have dropped onto her toe and cut it open. then he could have filed a personal claim also. only in america 😉
