A-DATA release USB 3.0 pendrives – 85MB/s

Have you always been annoyed with USB 2.0 pen drive performance? Is 35MB/s just not enough for your needs? Then fear ye not because A-Data have announced a new range of USB 3.0 flash drives for the performance hogs among you.

A-DATA's new N005 drives offer a reported 85-90MB/s on a USB 3.0 interface and will be made available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities. Stylishly they have decided to built them inside aluminium chassis which really look the part.

Pricing has yet to be confirmed, but we will keep you posted.

  1. The reason why these are built inside Aluminum chassis is because they have to use 2 Memory controllers!

    Remember when you Use your old USB2.0 Stick and pulled it off your system when it was done? It was warm wasn’t it? That is the memory controller busy irradiating your hand!

    Now these new sticks that use 2 already hot memory controllers have to be encased in a metallic or ceramic case in order for them to not melt the plastic variety…
    The only downside to this is that you will burn yourself when removing your USB3.0 Stick!

    So… Is it worth the pain?
