Motorola Xoom priced at $800

The much awaited Motorola Xoom has been priced at $800 without a contract and we hear it should reach Best Buy for sale in the US on February 24th.

The device supports Wi-Fi however you have to pay for 1 month of Verizon 3G service, which costs a minimum of $20 for a 1GB package. This is all coming from an ad that was posted on Engadget. There are a ton of spelling mistakes in the advertisement however so it might not be real.

Motorola's Xoom is going to be the first tablet to run Android 3.0 Honeycomb, which has been optimised for media tablets and heralds a big step forward in the Google operating system code.

It will ship with a whopping 10.1 inch display at 1280×800 resolution and features a dual core 1ghz nVidia Tegra 2 processor. 1GB of DRR2 ram will be installed with 32GB of flash storage which is further expandable via an SD slot. There is also a 5MP dual LED camera and a 2MP front side camera for video conferencing.

Connectivity looks to be reasonably good with a Micros USB 2.0 port onboard, and an HDMI out pot, with 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR.

Motorola are claiming a 10 hour battery life between recharges which puts it directly in line with Apples iPad.

Motorola ran an advertisement last night on the Superbowl which highlights the product, while taking a pop at Apple's product in a very subtle manner.
