There is a surprise Nintendo Direct stream coming this week

Over the last few days, we've seen rumours claiming that a Nintendo Direct will be happening soon and recent leaks around Persona 3 Reload seemingly backed that up. Now, it is all official, with Nintendo confirming plans to announce new games this week.

Today, Nintendo announced that its next Nintendo Direct stream will take place on the 21st of June (tomorrow) at 3PM BST. The stream will run for around 40 minutes and will focus on new games coming to Nintendo Switch later this year. Nintendo has also confirmed that it will be sharing more information about Pikmin 4.

Not much has leaked so far, but we assume that Persona 5 Tactica will be re-confirmed for Switch and Persona 3 Reload will get its official Switch release announcement. We may also finally see updates on big third-party titles that have yet to hit Switch, like Hogwarts Legacy, which was delayed from July to November 2023.

Recent rumours have suggested we'll see a new 2D Mario game at long last and perhaps we'll finally see The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker HD on Switch after years of rumours.

Nintendo Direct will be viewable live across YouTube and Twitch.

KitGuru Says: Since Metroid Prime Remastered impressed earlier this year, it would be great to see Nintendo build on that momentum and finally give us some new details about Metroid Prime 4. I also expect we'll get the first DLC announcement for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Is there anything you are hoping to see at this week's Nintendo Direct?
