Batman: Arkham Trilogy officially coming to Nintendo Switch

If you are one of the many Batman Arkham fans let down by the recent reveal of Rocksteady's Suicide Squad game, then you might be looking to go back to Rocksteady's earlier games to relive the glory days. Soon, you'll be able to take the Arkham trilogy on the go with you, as the series is finally heading to Nintendo Switch.

We've heard about Switch ports of the Arkham games in rumours for years at this point. Today during Nintendo Direct, the Batman: Arkham Trilogy for Switch was finally announced:

Initially, during the livestream, I thought portions of this trailer looked incredibly rough but the final VOD version, linked above, looks much better. Given that Arkham Asylum and Arkham City were originally developed for the Xbox 360 and PS3, I don't really have performance concerns with those two games on Switch.

However, Batman Arkham Knight was a PS4-generation title with a pretty big graphical boost over the previous two games, particularly in the open-world environments. I am a little worried that Arkham Knight will suffer from performance problems. We'll learn more about the Switch versions of the games and have a chance to see how they perform later this year, as the Arkham Trilogy is due to release on Switch this Autumn.

One final note from me, I do wish WB would stop pretending Arkham Origins didn't happen. While the game wasn't as beloved as the Rocksteady games, many Arkham fans have grown fond of Origins in the years after its launch and I'd really like to be able to play it once again without resorting to the ever-crashing PC version.

KitGuru Says: I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious, but price tag is going to play a huge factor here for those who have already owned and played these games on other platforms.
