We originally planned to have a full review of the DeepCool Assassin IV ready for launch day today but due to some unforeseen circumstances that’s still a work in progress. However, determined not to disappoint the KitGuru viewers I decided that a quick unboxing video was in order to give you guys a first look at some of the features and specifications of this new high-end flagship CPU air cooler from DeepCool. If recent DeepCool CPU air coolers are anything to go by the Assassin IV should live up to its name and provide some killer cooling for high-end CPUs, but we will reserve judgment on performance until we release a full review later. For now, it’s an unboxing and quick look at this new flagship CPU air cooler from DeepCool which launches today priced at £84.99 in the UK.
The Assassin IV features seven offset 6mm diameter heat pipes and is equipped with 2 DeepCool newly designed FDB fans, one 120mm and one 140mm with an additional fan bracket supplied in the box to run a third fan if you feel the need. Compared with the previous Assassin III, the Assassin IV boasts quieter operation, improved RAM clearance and a very slightly lower profile to maximise compatibility, as well as the obvious new looks.

Not only does it offer improved specs over the previous model, but the Assassin IV installation process has been refined to be more user-friendly. There's a switch to swap between quiet and performance fan modes, the 120mm fan is relocatable to the opposite side of the cooler, but with the fan in its default position, it provides unlimited RAM clearance on AMD platforms, so users with RGB RAM will not have to compromise on RGB effects due to fan overhang, which is great news.
