Insiders have indicated that the iPhone 5 is due to get the new Apple A5 processor with an 8MP camera. KitGuru has reported before about the 8MP camera but it looks as if Apple may be aiming for an early release, this year.
These rumours have been verified by Concord Securities analyst Ming Chi Kho who has a strong record of accurately predicting Apple rumours. According to our sources and Kho, it is pretty much certain that the A5 processor in the upcoming iPhone will match the performance of the A5 in the iPad 2. Apple should also be moving to a Qualcomm baseband for both CDMA and GSM models, as well as an improved antenna design.
The iPhone 5 could very well be shown at the World Developers Conference, which is scheduled for June 6th through 10th in San Francisco. Other insider information is positive however that Apple may very well not show any new hardware at the event, preferring to focus on iOS5 and Mac OS X 10.7 Lion.
KitGuru says: Many are hoping that Apple don't run into the same production issues with the upcoming white iPhone 5, although with an aluminum backing it should be a relatively easy process, once again.
