Ubisoft’s PC client to get a major overhaul

Over the years we have seen a frustrating number of bespoke PC clients spring up, with people’s libraries spread across multiple different applications. One such client is the Ubisoft Connect app; fortunately, it is being overhauled.

Ahead of its arrival later this Summer, a beta for the overhauled Ubisoft Connect app is starting to roll out from today “gradually and reach all players over the coming months”. Those who receive the update will see a “toggle appearing in the navigation bar of your desktop app” which will then allow you to shift to the new updated client.

Built on an entirely new framework, the revamped Ubisoft Connect app is focused on offering a more pleasant experience with a whole new look taking on more screen-friendly assets. Connectivity with friends has also been a major point of development, with players able to communicate and play games with friends more easily. Though no specifics were given, the new client is also being built with accessibility in mind.

The Ubisoft Connect app is not the worst PC client in the world, but it certainly is far from the best. As such, it is exciting to see Ubisoft’s PC app getting a massive upgrade.
