XFX WarPad Review

Rating: 8.5.

An XFX Mousemat? eh? say what? Normally, when someone offers me a mousepad for review, I immediately feign interest and try to end the phone call as quickly as possible. Reviewing a mouse mat is generally as exciting as watching the coffee pot boil. Today however we are looking at a rather radical design from XFX which they claim will redefine the gaming market.

XFX have been highly regarded for years as producing some of the finest graphics cards on the market, both for Nvidia and in recent years AMD. This is a radical move for the company as they look to join a handful of other manufacturers who want to expand their product portfolio. The aggressively named XFX WarPad is targeting the hard core gaming audience; clan members who spend most of their life gaming.

As we can immediately see, the WarPad is a dramatic design, which curves around the desk surface to enhance wrist support.

That is a fantastic idea. my desk however has a filing cabinet where i use my mouse, not sure it would work…..

damn, I meant under the desk, so the clip mechanism wouldn’t work. I dont mean on top of the table !

  3. £30 isn’t bad, but I have used quite a few mats and most of them feel the same to me.

  4. The problem is that a really good mat doesn’t make a tremendous amount of difference when working or general use. As long as its clean and tracks well with the laser, it makes little odds.

Pro gamers, thats different, ever little micro millimeter can make the difference between winning and losing. they spend hours fine tuning DPI for instance, so any imperfections on a mouse mat can cause issues.

  5. Warpad is OP, too stronk. Must buy. I have 2 side by side still not big enough. Reason being is I play Mechwarrior with a dpi switcher from 200 to 8200 at 1000rps (logitech g600). You can play for a seriously long period of time and your arm will not get sore, if your mouse kicks ass as well… good bye sleep.

This mouse pad is serious business, if you have one I salute you.
