Steve Jobs authorised biography to be released in November

Apple fans have been waiting with baited breath to get a hold of the upcoming book by Walter Isaacson – the authorised biography of Apple's iconic leader Steve Jobs.

According to All Things D, the publication date has been pushed forward from 2012 to November this year. The book cover has also been released, which is a simple black and white picture of the man himself, in contemplative mode.

Amazon seem to be confirming the new release date as the November 21st date is also listed on the Amazon Kindle store.

Simon and Schuster, the publisher said that Jobs “asked for no control over what was written nor even the right to read it before it was published. He put nothing off limits and instead encouraged the people he knew to speak honestly even foes, former girlfriends, and colleagues he had once fired or infuriated.

“Driven by demons, Jobs could drive those around him to fury and despair. But his personality and products were interrelated, just as Apple’s hardware and software tended to be, as if part of an integrated system. His tale is instructive and cautionary, filled with lessons about innovation, character, leadership, and values.”

Jobs has said himself “I don’t have any skeletons in my closet that can’t be allowed out.” Clearly it will be a no holds barred look at his life.

  2. Yeah yeah, it will just be a lame hagiography. Any negative will either be omitted, or included but given a positive spin. Isn’t his success enough? Do we now have to sit through the media hype of an ‘authorised’ account of his wonderfulness. Authorised simply mean authorised to look up his…

  3. I’m interested to see how the autho spins the book. I will probably pick it up to read it especially if they are really going to be holding nothing back in the book.
