Playstation 3 price drops in US to $249

Gamespot have published an article detailing the first day at Gamescom. They detail that the PlayStation Vita is going to be launched in Japan later this year, with Europe and North America releases in 2012. They also discuss an upcoming price drop.

Gamespot have listed the event in a time related format and apparently the show was closed with the announcement of a global price drop for the flagship Playstation 3 console.

“[11:22] Closing the show with a PS3 price announcement with immediate effect. Global price drop: €249, $249, or ¥24,980.”

They also announced a price drop for the PSP, which will be available for €99.

Right now in the UK, leading retail stores such as Game.co.uk are selling the Playstation 3 320GB Slim with Killzone 3 for £259.99.

  1. Its a really good deal right now. One of the best bluray players on the market too. I wouldnt buy a standalone bluray player. Why?

With the CPU power behind the PS3, its ideal for everything, and its futureproofed for HD media.
