Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure expansion arrives in August

Guild Wars 2 is getting a new expansion called Secrets of the Obscure. This expansion will introduce new maps in the skies above Tyria, where players will face off against invaders from the Mists and explore new combat options. Following the launch, major updates will be released every quarter, expanding the features, introducing new locations, and progressing the story.

The expansion will officially launch on August 22nd, 2023, at approximately 17:00 p.m. BST. At launch, players will experience the first arc of the expansion's story, two new maps, and various gameplay features, including Weaponmaster Training, Relics, a Rune rework, Skyscale mastery updates, the Wizard’s Vault reward system, two new armour sets, a new Fractal of the Mists, and two new Strike Missions. After the release, ArenaNet plans to launch quarterly updates that will introduce a new legendary armour set, new class weapons, and more story content.

To get a preview of what's to come, players can participate in the Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure combat beta weekend, taking place from June 29th to July 2nd.

Pre-purchasing Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure is now available starting at £21.99/€24.99/$24.99. By pre-purchasing the expansion, players will receive the Demon Hunter title, the Arcane Spellweaver's Hat Skin, and an Eagle Eye weapon skin of their choice.
