Angry Birds, the mobile game that has taken the world by storm has finally landed on the Windows Phone 7 platform. Rovio, the creators of the game have so far, sold over 15 million copies of the game and the arrival on the Microsoft platform will be sure to please Steve Ballmer and the gang.
The game was initially rumoured to hit the latest Microsoft mobile platform in October 2010 as Microsoft released a promotional image showing the game included in the launch lineup of applications. At that stage Rovio hadn't announced it themselves, and they were more than a little miffed at Microsoft. Insiders claimed that MS were trying to get customers to their platform, even though the deal hadn't been struck at the time.
After some negotiations hands were shook and the game was said to be released in May 2011, but it was pushed back until the end of June to complete a testing phase. Windows Phone 7 owners can now get the game on their mobile device. While the Microsoft operating system has yet to gain momentum, it will certainly help boost sales over the next few months.
