Apple has won an agreement from Samsung Electronics, meaning that the company won't sell the newest version of their tablet in Australia until a patent lawsuit in the country is resolved.
The Galaxy Tab 10.1 apparently infringes ten patents from Apple which include touchscreen technology in the iPad. Apple went for an Australian injunction and they want to stop Samsung selling the tablet in other countries according to Steven Burley, a lawyer for Apple. The locational details were not mentioned.
Samsung has bowed under pressure from Apple and have agreed to stop advertising the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia and will not sell the device until it wins court approval, or the lawsuit is resolved. If Apple loses the lawsuit then they will have to pay Samsung unspecified damages.
Apple have been claiming that Samsung are imitating the designs and technologies used for the iPad and iPhone. Their relationship is strained, even though Samsung supply memory for Apple.
