We have discussed the growing market for Android smartphones in many editorials on Kitguru in recent months. We have been particularly interested in a new graphic designed by JumpTap which is based on data from 83 million users in the US.
The graphic highlights the incredible growth of Android in recent months, with dominance in the south and southwest regions of the country. Moving across to west and northeast shows that iOS is still managing to hold ground.
Recent Comscore reports show that Android has taken just over 40% of the market, a rise from 34.7% in March this year.
RIM and Microsoft aren't reporting such positive growth, with both platforms showing an overall decline in marketshare to 23.4% and 5.8% respectively.
Kitguru says: Android to dominate the US market? iOS is still fighting back.
Poor microsoft, Google are exactly were they want to be.
