Samsung have been locked in legal battle with Apple over the sale of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet computer. This isn't stopping them in the Netherlands however as they plan to release the product there today.
Tamari Villani, a spokeswoman for Samsung said “The Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be on sale from Tuesday”, available in large electronics stores around the country. After August 23rd the device will be available in other stores.
Apple are targeting Samsung here as well as they have asked a Dutch judge to ban the sale of three Samsung smartphones and three different tablets, including the Galaxy Tab 10.1. Apple filed an injunction due to design and patent infringing. This decision is due to be given by 15th September.
Villani said “Whatever the decision, we can continue our business as planned until October 13.”
This marks the latest development in the legal standoff between the two electronics corporations.

In other related news PCR published an article today which says that Apple recently adjusted the aspect ratio of Galaxy Tab images so they could show the competing tablet was actually a closer match to the iPad than it normally would be.
“A Dutch magazine has found that Apple manipulated images in the firm's successful application to a German court to have Samsung's competing Galaxy Tab 10.1 banned from sale in the EU.”
Kitguru says: Samsung are set to fight the decisions which have blocked the sale in various countries.
Seems to me that this is just like every other legal battle Apple gets into. If competition starts showing signs of pulling market share they file frivolous lawsuits in hopes that they get the product pulled before it becomes a “problem” for them.
