Nvidia CEO Jen Hsun Huang has said that there will be quad core Nvidia powered tablets by the end of this year. He spoke with Forbes and said that the ‘Kal El' range of quad core processors will be featuring in tablets very soon.
He said “We’re the only people seriously on the dance floor with Qualcomm, we’re really the only two active players (in the tablet PC marketspace)”.
While the future is bright for tablets, the smartphone quad core solution might not appear until next year. Huang expects to expand his business to $20 billion revenue in 2015. Currently they generate around $2 billion a year.
Their progress in the mobile market is very strong, as their hardware features in 50 percent of Android smartphones and 70 percent of Android tablets.
