Thermaltake TR2 800W Power Supply review

Thermaltake have expanded their portfolio in recent years and today they sell a huge cross section of components such as CPU coolers, computer cases and power supplies.

Today we are looking at one of their latest power supply designs, the TR2 800W.

The TR2 800W is a 80 Plus Bronze Certified power supply with a high emphasis on achieving the most competitive price possible.

Internally Thermaltake claim a superior component selection with 105c certified Japanese capacitors and an intelligent 120mm fan to keep temperatures in check. With full SLI and CrossfireX support and a price point well under £90, could this be the bargain power supply of the year?

    Shame its not modular too.

  2. I like the price, but a non modular supply is hard to live with. I bought one a few months ago and I hate all the cables I have to hide. You can never really hide them that well either, depending on the case.

    Next one I buy will be modular, even if it costs £20 more.

  4. Thermaltake get it right, but not often. This is a pretty tried and tested design with nothing dramatically new to ‘mess up’.

    Seems like a good product at the right price.

  5. Can you change the fan connector via plug and play?
    on the pictures you cant see where the cable is going.
