Samsung will be pleased to hear that they have taken the top spot at the T3 Gadget Awards last night, knocking the Apple iPhone 4 from the top spot. This is the first time in three years that the award didn't go to Apple or HTC.
The Samsung handset is a little wonder, with a stunning 4.3 inch AMOLED screen and is supplied with 1 GB of memory and a class leading 8 megapixel camera.
Luke Peters, Editor of T3 said “The Samsung Galaxy S II is a gorgeous looking phone with slick operation, a great social hub and the best camera on any smartphone to date. It has great integration with Samsung’s TVs and a screen that matches the iPhone 4.”
Apple won't be too depressed however as they claimed an award for T3 Design Award and Computer of the Year, for their work with the MacBook Air 11 inch. Not a shock to find out that the iPad also claimed the tablet of the year award.
Other awards included Amazon, for retailer of the year (ED: well deserved) and Microsoft who claimed the Gaming Gadget Of The Year award – for their Kinect motion sensing device.
