Microsoft are dealing with a rather embarrassing situation today, as their Youtube channel appears to have been hacked at the weekend. All of their videos were removed and replaced with short clips. We checked this morning and they seem to have the situation under control now.
According to Mashable, four videos were uploaded to the account with time stamps all within the same 4 hour period.
“As of 1:30 p.m. ET, four videos have been uploaded to the account, all time-stamped within the past two hours. A fifth video, most recently uploaded, seems to have been removed. The video, “Garry’s Mod – Escape the Box,” featured what appeared to be an animated gunman shooting at the inside of a construction box.
The channel’s description reads, “I DID NOTHING WRONG I SIMPLY SIGNED INTO MY ACCOUNT THAT I MADE IN 2006 :/.”
Kitguru says: No details of who hacked the account, but Microsoft seem to have acted quickly to replace the video content.
I saw this yesterday, quite funny 🙂
M$ has always been targeted and i’m sure they are quite used to it by now. Anyways, atleast the hacker didn’t put some offensive stuff on there.
