Nokia 808 PureView launching in Russia and India this May

Nokia has just announced that their camera-centric 808 PureView will start to roll out in Russia, India and possibly other markets in May. The handset is the first of Nokia's phones that comes with their exclusive and award winning PureView technology. The technology includes a massive 41 MP sensor, Carl Zeiss optics and advanced image algorithms.

The Nokia 808 PureView will launch in Russia and India this month

The massive sensor means that the phone can take advantage of “pixel oversampling technology” which could also be regarded as a rather poor form, yet functional form of optical zoom. It will also be able to record 1080p video with 4x lossless zoom. These features allow the phone to capture professional looking shots in any multitude of conditions.

While some will consider the 808 PureView as nothing more than an impressive camera that can also make calls, Nokia is “going to carry on developing PureView for our future smartphones in ways that will again revolutionize the imaging experience.” The handset launching this month runs on Nokia's Symbian OS, while the aforementioned quote essentially confirms that we will see a Windows Phone 7 PureView phone later this year.

KitGuru says: Don't wont to carry around a digital camera? Just buy a smartphone; Nokia just hopes its their own 808 PureView.

Emulation is the saving grace of the video games industry. Despite its controversial nature, the technology will be the only way in which all games are preserved for the future – free from licensing agreements and other such nonsense. Better still is the fact that in a majority of cases, emulation allows for a more accurate recreation of the game’s original experience than official offerings, due to countless complex shaders, filters and tweakable settings. And the best part? Thanks to the progression of technology, your humble smartphone is able to do all this and more – giving you the power of 10,000 games in the palm of your hand.
