Huawei’s Android 4.0 update for the MediaPad now available

Huawei was the first manufacturer to launch a Android 3.2 Honeycomb tablet late last year and the tablet in question was the seven-inch MediaPad. Fast forward six months and it is one of the first tablets to get its own Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update.

The Huawei MediaPad can now be updated to Android 4.0

The 330 MB update file brings with it a stock Android user experience plus all the advantages Ice Cream Sandwich has over Honeycomb. Folder support on the homescreens being just one of them. The update isn't being pushed over-the-air so you will have to download the file from Huawei's website. Huawei has also started to ship the MediaPad with Android 4.0 pre-installed.

I actually had a play with Huawei's MediaPad late last year and was impressed that is was well priced for ultimate value, offered a 3G radio and a fully featured Android experience.
