Sony reveals free PS+ games for September alongside new price increase

As leaked earlier in the week, Saints Row is indeed the headlining game for September's PS+ Essential update. Sony has also revealed the other two games coming to subscribers next month… alongside another subscription price increase.

Starting from September 5th, PS+ subscribers can claim a free copy of Saints Row (PS4/PS5), Black Desert Traveler Edition (PS4) and Generation Zero (PS4).

The bigger news here is that starting next month, Sony is also upping the cost of PlayStation Plus across all three tiers, but only for the 12-month subscription. Moving forward, buying a year of PS+ Essential will cost £60, and jumping up to PS+ Extra will cost £100 per year. Finally, the PS+ Premium subscription is moving up to £120 per year.

These price increases are only in place for 12-month subscriptions, so if you pay monthly instead, there will be no changes to the fees charged, for now at least.
