AMD Ryzen 3 5100 shows up on Gigabyte motherboard CPU support list

Even with the AM5-based chips out on the market, the AM4 platform is still receiving support and even the possibility of additional processors. AMD has made a commitment to long-term support for the platform and has recently launched three new SKUs within a short span of one month.

The first processor is the Ryzen 7 5700, based on the Cezanne silicon architecture but without the integrated Vega GPU found in the original 5000G processor. However, this model has not been seen at retailers, leading to speculation that it may be exclusive to OEMs. At the same time, AMD has officially released the Ryzen 5 5600X3D, a modified version of the Vermeer-X processor with a larger 96MB L3 cache. Unfortunately, this processor has a limited release and will be exclusively available through a single retailer in the US.

The third processor, found by @momomo_us, is the 4-core Ryzen 3 5100, also based on the Cezanne silicon architecture like the Ryzen 7 5700. As per the CPU spec table, this Ryzen 3 chip will have four cores, eight threads, a base clock speed of 3.6GHz, and a boost clock speed of 4.2GHz. For cache, there are 2MB of L2 and 8MB of L3.

It's worth mentioning that rumours about the Ryzen 5100 processor have been circulating for some time, with speculations of its release alongside the Ryzen 5700 and 4700 desktop CPUs. While some of these CPUs have been unveiled this month, the Ryzen 4700 is still awaiting its official debut.

KitGuru says: The AMD Ryzen 3 5100 won't be topping any charts. Still, even without knowing its price, it should become a decent CPU option for budget-conscious PC builds. More so because it belongs to the well-established AM4 platform.
