Star Wars Jedi: Survivor released last year as the second entry in what has become a rather beloved Star Wars series. As has been the case with the films themselves, Cal Kestis is getting the full trilogy treatment, with Respawn Entertainment “working hard to bring the final chapter of this thrilling story to players.”
In a report transcribed by VGC, EA recently held their investors relations day, in which the publisher discussed their current and upcoming projects. In talking about the Star Wars Jedi games, the President of EA Entertainment and Technology – Laura Miele – said:
“We have delivered some of the highest quality and best-selling Star Wars games of all-time, with over $5 billion in net bookings. This impressive track record includes of course the Star Wars Jedi games, where over 40 million Star Wars fans have connected with Cal Kestis and his arc of becoming a powerful Jedi.”
Alongside the reveal that over 40 million players have experienced at least one of the two games, Miele teased the 3rd and final game in the series, adding that “Respawn is working hard to bring the final chapter of this thrilling story to players.”
While the Jedi series was conceptualised as a trilogy, the director for both Fallen Order and Survivor ‘Stig Asmussen’ departed Respawn last year, putting the future of Cal Kestis somewhat in flux.
Given just how popular both Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Survivor have been , hopefully the team at Respawn are able to round out the trilogy in a satisfying manner – even without the leadership of Asmussen.
