The next Yakuza game will send players to the high seas for a pirate adventure

Studio RGG has officially revealed the next Yakuza game for PC and consoles. This time around, we're leaving the urban organised crime life behind, swapping it out for a swashbuckling adventure starring fan-favourite character, Goro Majima.

Yakuza has had a few interesting spin-offs over the years. The previous, Like a Dragon: Ishin, saw Kiryu transported back to ancient times. This time around, we're getting a Majima-focused spin-off, in which we see our favourite eye-patch wearing gang member taking on the role of captain on a pirate ship.

The game itself is set six months after the events of the latest mainline game in the franchise, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. The game is also set in Hawaii, a location that also features prominently in the previous mainline game.

Players will fight enemy pirate crews on shores and oceans alike, and you'll have to get a little tactical with building out your crew and upgrading your ship.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii will launch on the 28th of February for Xbox and PlayStation consoles, as well as PC.

KitGuru Says: Yakuza has often been praised for its mini-games and side activities, so it is fun to see some of those ideas being expanded on into full-fledged spin-off games. For me personally though, while I do enjoy this series, I think I'll be sticking to the mainline titles.
