Suns doomsday ‘flare’ wont wipe out earth next year

If you listen to the prophets (and mainstream news industry), some have been claiming that the earth will be destroyed next year. Some have even associated this with a massive Sun's flare due in 2012. Everyone can rest easy, because NASA have said that this huge flare will not destroy the earth.

Scientists have been concerned that the next ‘killer flare' could destroy life on earth. Thankfully, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) says that there isn't enough energy in the sun to send a devastating blast across the 93 million miles between Sun and Earth.

NASA also have said that the solar maximum cycle may be actually 2013 or 2014, not 2012.

Solar flares can affect the earth, and even though the heat can't travel that distance to cause damage, there is electromagnetic radiation and energetic particles which can. They all start from a coronal mass ejection CME), which emit from the surface of the sun.

In a worst case scenario they can damage power grids on the surface by blowing out transformers. The CME particles can also cause problems for GPS systems and satellites – which can lead to problems for the aviation industry.
