Einstein theory of special relativity could be wrong: time travel possible?

Albert Einstean, the German born theoretical physicist has been one of our greatest minds. His theory of general relativity caused a revolution in physics. For all of his hard work he has been regarded as the father of modern physics and a true intellectual of our time.

Scientists in Switzerland may just have debunked one of his laws, and have even opened up the possibility of time travel.

According to researchers, his theory of ‘special relativity' could be wrong. This theory demands that nothing can travel faster than light. They say that they have recorded sub atomic particles travelling faster than the speed of light and if true could mark one of the biggest findings in physics in the last 50 years.

Never mind the paint job: is time travel possible?

Antonio Ereditato, a spokesperson for the research team said that measurements taken over the space of three years showed neutrinos from CERN's physics laboratory near Geneva to Gran Sasso in Italy 730km away had arrived 60 nanoseconds quicker than light would have taken.

Light could have covered the distance in 2.4 thousandths of a second, but the neutrinos took 60 nanoseconds, or 60 billionths of a second, less.

They said “We have high confidence in our results. We have checked and rechecked for anything that could have distorted our measurements but we found nothing, We now want colleagues to check them independently.”

  1. I said many times that Einstein was great man but he wasn’t right about everything. Most of Einstein theories will be disproved given enough (nomen omen) time and if (or when) our development as mankind reach another level. We simply treating Einstein theories as dogmas because we need some foundation to build our world around. But in truth development of mankind is very limited and we can’t prove that this or that law/theory is wrong (not only Einsteins, not only in physics). Enough to say that 99.5% or so people on the planet using at most 2-3% of our brain capacity. We are simply very primitive species. Need many, many more generations and evolution. Time travel is certainly possible. It is just our limited understanding of physics/quantum physics and Universe which is stumbling block.

  2. Thanks God we are at a time that we can disprove generally accepted theories
otherwise for another 2000 year we must have lived with something like sacred
    nonsense of Aristotle
