Modern Warfare 3 devs battling and banning online cheaters

Since it was launched Modern Warfare 3 has had a huge problem with people cheating online. Infinity Ward, the primary developer have had to ban thousands of gamers for finding loopholes in the game code, to gain an unfair advantage against others.

ComputerAndVideoGames have issued a report claiming that the problem is likely to get worse as gamers exploit more code weaknesses.

The problem is so severe that the Infinity Ward ‘creative strategist' Robert Bowling posted on his twitter page that they had banned 1,600+ bans already “Any attempt to cheat, hack, or glitch in #MW3 will not be tolerated. 1600+ bans issued. Updates in works. Please [continue] to report offenders.”

He added in a later post “We are doing mass bans on PC as well while we work on updates.” and also said that IW is holding “daily meetings [to] investigate cause and solutions” as well as working on “hot fixes.”

The problem hasn't caused any sales concerns for the company as it has generated $800 million already to date, with $400 million made in the first day of sales alone.

Kitguru says: I have to say I have been hugely disappointed with this game, and while I may be in the minority, I feel that Battlefield 3 is a much better single player and online title.
