While you can be as careful as you like with data when you are transporting it between sites, there's always the possibility of a complete accident. The one small slip that will see your drive fall down a load of stairs or into water (hot or otherwise). For those occasions, ADATA has a solution.
Although Vibrant Red and Wild Blue might sound like butterflies, they are actually the colour options for the sequentially-named ADATA S107.
The design utilises a special silicon compound to ensure that your data remains safe from liquids and surprises – while the pleasantly curved exterior will help you develop all sorts of OCD while you rotate it in your pocket.
ADATA claims that the S107 offers a ‘radical new approach to shock-resistant designs and SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interfaces, with a sporty exterior and dynamic design' and they also say that it is ‘perfect for users who have active lives and a strong sense of style'.
Internally, it seems to have been engineered to Military Grade shockproof standards – perfect for those with war zone jobs or teenage kids.
As you would expect, performance is lighting quick, with USB 3.0 read speeds of up to 100MB/second – allowing you to back up data almost 3 times quicker than with USB 2.0 interface.
Initial capacities available will be 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB and we're expecting pricing around the £10, £20 and £40 marks – but we're not sure if that includes any government taxes.
KitGuru says: We're all individuals, so it's nice to see a major manufacturer spending a little time on the visual design and feature set of something as ubiquitous as a USB pen drive. Will certainly make it easier for you to spot across the office when some colleague attempts the ‘Oh, sorry, thought it was mine' line.
