Sony block 93,000 online accounts

Sony have blocked 93,000 user accounts on their gaming and entertainment networks after they noticed unauthorised login attempts. These accounts have been associated with the Playstation Network and the Sony Entertainment Network.

Sony are saying that a small percentage of these logins have been successful and that they happened between October 7th and October 10th. The company say that they appeared to ‘use login and password information obtained from a separate company'.

Thankfully they are claiming that these unauthorised logins are not associated with any hacks to their network causing loss of any user personal information. The company have locked the accounts and sent emails to users requesting that they change their passwords immediately.

This report may give some faith to customers, as Sony have finally shown some quick thinking in regards to this ‘breach'.
