Thermaltake Tt eSPORTS Battle Dragon LAN Bag Review

Rating: 8.0.

Thermaltake are well known for their extensive range of PC cases and power supplies but they also produce an extensive range of gaming peripherals under the Tt eSPORTS brand.  We have looked at a number of Tt eSPORTS headsets in the past such as the impressive Shock Spin HD headset and MEKA G keyboard.

Today we are going to look at the Tt eSPORTS Battle Dragon LAN Bag which is designed for gamers who frequent LAN events like Multiplay's I-Series.  It is designed to carry all the gaming accessories that go along with your PC so you don't have to worry about them getting lost or damaged.

The Battle Dragon bag is quite large in size, measuring 35 x 57 x 25 cm (WxLxH).  Thermaltake have chosen to make the bag from a combination of Polyester and Nylon which should prove durable and hard-wearing.  The bag feels quite substantial as it's very well padded so we expect that it will provide a good level of protection to the gaming accessories you carry within.

There isn't anything particularly special about the Battle Dragon bag in terms of aesthetics.  It's essentially a large black bag with a red zip and a few Tt eSPORTS logos.  Thermaltake have clearly designed this bag with function as a priority over style.

We can access the inside of the bag using the zip around the edge of the long side.  There are five different sections within the bag for storing all the bits and pieces.  There is one very large section which appears to have been designed to fit a 24″ monitor as there was some room to spare on either side when we tried out our 22″ Viewsonic VX2260WM monitor in the bag.

We did encounter a slight issue with this particular model as only the base of the monitor is detachable so the monitor arm protrudes out of the top of the bag. You can still zip it up around this, though, as there are two zips on the bag.

There is also a slightly smaller large section which could still fit an additional 22″ monitor within. We assume this has been designed to accommodate a keyboard, though, as a lot of LAN events have a strict one monitor policy.  In the centre of the bag there are three smaller sections which are perfect for storing gaming headsets and mice.

On the outside of the bag there are two further zipped pockets which are perfect for storing other items, whether it be a few cans of your favourite energy drink or some snacks to keep you going through those long gaming sessions.

When buying a laptop bag, you're usually forced to choose between a messenger style bag or a backpack. With the Battle Dragon bag however, we aren't required to make this choice.  Thermaltake have devised a simple system which lets you use the bag for either demand.  In its standard state, the Battle Dragon bag is a messenger style bag with handles on both the top and side and a detachable shoulder strap.  It can also be converted to a backpack by unzipping all the way around the back of the bag, rolling up the flap and securing it with the Velcro at the top.

Everything considered, we are quite impressed with the Tt eSPORTS Battle Dragon LAN Bag.  It offers a practical solution for those who frequently attend LAN events where they are required to take all of their gaming accessories and peripherals.  It is also perfect for those who have large gaming laptops as the bag has acres of room inside.

Value is always a key consideration for gamers and the Battle Dragon LAN Bag is reasonably priced at £41 from SCAN Computers.  We do think that many gamers will be willing to pay this price for the convenience of a single bag which can easily carry their monitor alongside all their other gaming accessories.

Pros

  • Plenty of space.
  • Well padded.
  • Can be used as a backpack or a messenger bag.

Cons

  • A little pricey.
  • Some monitors may not fit in this bag.

KitGuru says: Another great addition to the Tt eSPORTS range and very well designed.
